Where and What did you study in college?

I am a two-time graduate of Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC), with High Honors, in Bangor, Maine.
Associate of Applied Science in Digital Graphic Design
Certificate in Digital Graphic Design
Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies

As a dual enrolled student with New England School of Communications (NESCom) at
Husson University, in Bangor, Maine. I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Bachelor of Science in Communications Technology - Concentration in WebMedia
Certificate in Graphic Design

What is your current job?

I am a Web/Graphic Designer and Content Specialist with Saco Design in Winterport, Maine. I am responsible for project management, content management, web design, photography and front- end development. With these skills, I work simultaneously with teammates and clients throughout the design process and development lifecycle, to bring ideas and visions to life.

What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy that my job is multilayered. Working in a small, fast paced Web Development and
Internet Marketing company encourages troubleshooting and problem solving across
many aspects of web design and development. The industry is constantly changing –
from people, to software, to hardware – yielding many opportunities for lifelong learning.

I am pleased to join a strong team and cool culture. Working together with like-minded
individuals – a compilation of analytical, strategic and creative minds - each with broad
areas of expertise - is conducive to team success.

As a fine artist, I especially appreciate that the web is a living medium (unlike painting or
print) –it is ever changing. The work and its process lends itself to forgiveness and
fluidity; each day the work is different, each site with its own branding, style, tone, tenor,
industry, mission and approach.

Why have you chosen to stay in Maine to live and work?

I am a homegrown, third generation Mainer. My grandparents, my parents, and I were all born in Bangor, Maine (with the exception of one grandmother from Machias, Maine).
In the age of technology, the Internet, and the World Wide Web, I am blessed with opportunity to work remotely, and telecommute from Downeast Maine; in this great seasonal State of Maine, with our rugged coastlines, north-flowing rivers, and woodlands galore. It is the place of my heritage, my legacy, and is truly “The way life should be”.

How did you get to where you are today?

I arrived where I am today as an artist, designer and developer through many means:

Firstly, through the support, accessibility and affordability of higher educational institutions in Maine coupled with my personal discipline and desire to achieve academic excellence.

Secondly, through the opportunity offered by Saco Design, for taking a chance on an aspiring STEM field professional and recent graduate.

Lastly, and certainly not least, through the support of Project>Login, as a resource and
connection between field placement and employers!  Thank you kindly.
