USM Students: “30 Minute Mentoring” (30MM) is a program of one-on-one meetings with alumni working in a variety of careers and fields for 30 minutes. This program has assisted more than 90 students and engaged more than 25 alumni over the past two years. Business, law enforcement, tourism, health, communications and public relations, and more are represented over three sessions in Gorham and Portland.
USM is teaming up with instructors of LAC 188: College and Career Success to integrate 30MM into the curriculum, a course designed to help first year students manage their academics, explore majors/careers, values and decision making in order to develop specific career goals.
