UX/UI Design Intern

Join us as a UX Intern and you'll get the chance to work with and learn from a team of 13 experienced design and user research professionals. We work on a wide range of integrated veterinary diagnostic and information management products: mobile apps, cloud-based applications as well as embedded systems and desktop applications.

Project Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and build a client friendly, interactive report view, where customers can show clients reports in a new, consumable way. This report should include (when appropriate) easy-to-understand recommendations for treatment (medications) and follow-up diagnostics.
  • Conduct customer/client research on how customers might like to share their reports with pet owners
  • Create wireframes and mockups based on the research findings
  • Build an interactive (testable) prototype

Skills:

  • Interest in User Experience Design, and UX Research.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Sketch, InVision, Axure RP 8.

Requirements:  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must be returning IDEXX interns or have completed at least one year of college.  A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences and/or the recommendation of a professor preferred.


About the IDEXX Intern Program:  IDEXX Interns will have the opportunity for hands-on research and work experience in our cutting-edge research facility to supplement the course of study.  Interns will gain real-world experience and may be assigned to project teams.

These roles are compensated at a competitive rate; interns will work full-time hours for the summer months. 

In addition to professional experiences, IDEXX interns have the opportunity to participate in a variety of additional activities, including:

  • Weekly small-group meetings to discuss their internships with other students and mentors
  • “Lunch and Learn” seminars on research topics with our leadership team
  • Workshops on relevant issues such as career planning, professional topics, etc. 
  • Intern final presentations
  • Social mixers and events
